Learn how to master light and shadow while photographing dramatic coastal scenes around the beautiful beach village of Porthtowan, on the north coast of Cornwall. 'Contre jour', is a French phrase which means 'shooting into the light'. This workshop will help you capture rugged coastal scenes, silhouettes and reflections by the sea. Working in manual mode you will learn how to expose correctly for the most impactful results. Shooting 'into the light', creates memorable, artistic results. The resulting images can be enjoyed either in black & white or colour. Depending on tide and weather we will spend most of our time on the beach or exploring the cliffs above.

This watercolor painting of Cowboy with Horse, is a classic Western figure of the relationship between a man and his horse. I used a photo by Anita Jones Bozich as a reference for this painting.

The California Trail Interpretive Center (west of Elko, NV) hosted a ?learn & paint? activity. The subject was owls. I began this piece during the hourlong class, then, finished later giving myself a little freedom to venture away from the exact lesson example. I truly enjoyed the experience of being out, painting amongst other artists, and continue to attend their

Title or Location: Springtime at Ault Park Pavilion
My Ault Park Pavilion painting was inspired by a perfect spring day when my husband and I wandered beneath the cherry blossoms at Ault Park. He paused to take photos of the blooms while I soaked in the beauty of the pavilion I?ve always loved?its arches, its history, its quiet elegance. That peaceful moment together, surrounded by soft pink petals and the architecture I adore, became the heart of this piece.
